Overview
A training (60%) and skills (40%) centre focused on urbanity, urban studies, urban research, urban planning, urban development and urban security. Cities are sites of imagination, innovation, uncertainty, stress and imagined futures — the Centrum deploys specific conceptual tools, analytic methods and theoretical frameworks to capture the everyday practices in the making and production of urban spaces: urban governance, the built environment, urban infrastructure and circuits, and people as infrastructure and as security concern.

Activities
- Research and study the diverse social, spatial and temporal everyday practices of urban living and realities.
- Cross-reference concepts with key current and historical literature to build sustainable understanding and skills for innovative urbanity, planning, development and security.
- Trace the genealogy of urbanity and urban studies — antiquity, classical, modern and contemporary — to frame narratives around the construction and re-discovery of urban spaces.
- Study sources of urban stress and conflict, and how people maintain or recover normal functioning.
