Overview

The Legislative Analyst exists to strengthen evidence-based lawmaking and policy research in the governance system. It functions as a core instrument for improving the quality, efficiency and accountability of legislative processes at national (Parliament) and local government (District or City Council) levels. Through collaboration with Parliaments, local governments, academics and governance research units, it aims to build a system-wide mechanism for translating research evidence into legislative and policy action — a strategic intervention to institutionalise evidence-based governance across the national, regional, continental and global policymaking landscape.
